Facile Glycothermal Synthesis of KxNa(1−x)NbO3 Particles

KxNa(1−x)NbO3 particles (KNN, 0 < x 1) were successfully synthesized through a facile glycothermal method by using KOH, NaOH and Nb2O5 as precursors 1,4-butanediol solvent at 200 °C for 12 h. The effects of varying the 1,4-butanediol/deionized water (B/W) volume ratio on growth behavior, morphological evolution, particle size KNN investigated. In order to obtain K0.5Na0.5NbO3 with morphotropic phase boundary (MPB) potassium content ≈ 0.5, effect K+/Na+ molar composition obtained was crystal structure, morphology, size, chemical composition, thermal behavior samples characterized XRD, FE-SEM, EDS, TG, FT-IR, PSA, TEM. pure orthorhombic close NaNbO3 same concentration 1.0/1.0 [K++Na+]/Nb 2.0/0.1. K0.01Na0.99NbO3 exhibited hexahedron shape an average crystallite approximately 400 nm treated It is also demonstrated that Na-rich decreased from 15 µm increasing various reaction conditions such B/W can be controlled additive water. Until reaches 1.6/0.4, have produced phase, whereas when 1.8/0.2, could K-rich phase. results revealed single-phase relatively narrow 1.7/0.3. weakened agglomerate shape. comparison traditional hydrothermal method, has been confirmed more efficient in controlling micro- sub-micron.
